In the last years, ZJSU has been paying great attention to international exchanges and cooperation and making an effort to promote education internationalization. ZJSU has a partner relationship with over 100 universities & scientific research institutions from over 50 countries, including the UK, Britain, Belgium, Canada, Germany, France, New Zealand, Australia, Turkey, Japan, and South Korea, etc. Moreover, we have begun cooperation programs with more than 60 foreign universities and research institutions like Columbia University, University of California at Berkeley, University of Manchester, Waseda University, University of Canterbury, & Chulalongkorn University in the areas of faculty and students exchange, mutual accreditation of credits, scientific research cooperation.
MPM, in cooperation with the University of Quebec, has trained more than 600 postgraduates. Alliance Francaise de Hangzhou has improved into the largest French language training and cultural exchange center in Zhejiang Province. The university also co-established Confucius Institute with Howest University, Belgium. Up to now, the number of students in Confucius Institute has reached more than 600. The university also co-established research centers with well-known foreign universities and research institutions, such as Sensory Science Laboratory with American Monell Chemical Sense Center.
ZJSU started “Blue Sky” project aimed at enhancing faculty internationalization, which sends 50 promising teachers annually to foreign key universities for study and research, meanwhile 12 academic leaders and young administrators to key universities overseas for training as well. ZJSU encourages scholars to attend international academic meetings and activities of various kinds. It actively conducts student exchange programs with key universities overseas and has sent 1000 students in recent years to foreign universities for long-term and short-term exchange and visiting programs. From 2014, the university has set up a special fund of 3 million RMB yearly, for sponsoring outstanding students to study abroad for long or short terms.
With the development of internationalization and the overall improvement, ZJSU has hosted and sponsored in recent years over 20 large-scale international activities and important academic conferences, including “2010 International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) Conference of North East Asia”, “the 20th International Association of Feminist Economics”, “Academic Conference of East Asian Culture” co-organized with University of Columbia and “2012 Bangkok Asia Food Science Forum” co-hosted with Chulalongkorn University, Thailand.
May 2011 witnessed the 100th Anniversary of this university, for which nearly 100 friend universities in the US, UK, Canada, and other countries sent their congratulatory messages, such as Harvard University, Cornell University, etc. In the year of 2012, Complete Works of Dickens by the university publishing house was used as the state gift at the Book Fair of London. In 2013, the university held “International Education Week”, which was hosted by ZJSU and co-organized by over 20 partner universities from the USA, UK, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and Republic of Northern Cyprus.
In recent years, the university has employed more than 300 foreign teachers from the United States, Britain, Germany, Australia, Japan, South Korea, etc, among which 3 foreign experts were awarded Zhejiang provincial government “West Lake Friendship Award”. ZJSU invited foreign experts and scholars to give more than 500 short-term courses or lectures; and had over 2000 foreign guests and visitors, such as Nobel Prize winner Professor Luc A.Montagnier, French Academician of College de France Pierre Devolve.
ZJSU attaches great importance to international education. Since 2009, ZJSU founded a scholarship for international students, more than 100 students got this scholarship and at the same time about 100 international students got “Zhejiang Provincial Government Scholarship”. To enlarge the number of international students and increase degree students, ZJSU has established 27 foreign-language-taught degree programs specially designed for international students. Presently, the total number of international students doubles the rate every year. over 300 foreign students are pursuing bachelor, master and doctoral degrees, and 100 international students yearly study Chinese, Chinese culture and Chinese Business in the university.

Prepare Your Departure:
Before your departure, be sure to take the following materials:

Apply for a course in a Chinese University is very easy. Students just have to follow some steps to apply for their favorite course. In order to help students complete their online application, International students are recommended to follow the simple instructions.
Foreign applicants must provide the following documents to apply:
1. Application Form fills in Chinese or in English.
2. Passport & Passport Size Photo (Scan copy )
Dear student, the first thing you need to have a passport. This is more important documents because without a passport you can not go to study in your dream country. To have passport make you secure to live or study abroad. So if you don’t have it, we suggest you make your passport ready from the embassy office in your home country. Moreover if you have your passport already, then make sure your passport expiry date will not be expired. If it already be expired then you need to remake your passport.
The passport photo size (50mm x 40mm) in general. The photo should be clear and the background must be plain, white or off-white in color. The height of the head should be between 28mm – 33mm.The head width has to be between 21mm–24mm. Submit a color photo, taken in the last 6 months. Use a clear image of your face. 3. Transcripts & Certificates (Must be Notarized Copy )
Students for Bachelor Degree need to provide their school transcripts and certificates. For Master Degree Applicants have to bring their undergraduate transcripts and certificates. And Doctorate Degree studies must provide their both (undergraduate and graduate) transcripts and certificates.
Please take as a note that is, all the transcripts and certificates should be notarized.
Note : Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with translations in Chinese or English.
4. English Proficiency Certificate
In China, some universities does not asked IELTS but if you study in Chinese Taught for CSC scholarship, English Proficiency Certificate need to have ready. If you have IELTS already then you are lucky to study in China without delay.
5. CV/Resume
Applicants must have to prepare their CV if they want to study abroad in their desired country. The Resume or CV should include their academic qualifications with results, personal details (name, date of birth, marital status, national Id or school Id, physical address, contact no, nationality, language, etc), reference from your institution’s faculty (his/her name, address and designation), personal achievement, etc. To know how to make a standard CV please click here the sample of The Resume.
6. Study Plan or Research Proposal (Ms/PhD)
Applicants for graduate studies need a study plan or research proposal in Chinese or in English (no less than 800 words). This document is required only for Ms or PhD applicants.
7. Recommendation Letter (Ms/PhD)
Applicants for all graduate studies need two letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors (in Chinese or English). Letters must be include professors’ phone number and email address. Here is the sample of Recommendation Letter.
8. Published Academic Papers or Other Academic Achievements (if applicable).
9. Foreign Physical Examination
Applicants are expected to keep the original copies filled in English. The medical examination must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Medical examination results will be valid for 6 months. All applicants are kindly requested to take this factor into consideration as they plan to take the medical examination. 10. Bank Statement
Bank statements must show to any foreign country for the purpose of a visitor or a business or an immigrants. For the study purpose in foreign countries also need to show bank statement. So dear applicants, you will need to have ready your all documents. Sponsorship can be your parents or anyone whom are your blood related.
11. Police Verification (No Criminal Record)
This is also need to have ready for the study purpose. It is important because foreign country does not allow criminal record. A Police Clearance Certificate is an official document approved by the police or government agencies in order to prove that the applicant has no criminal offense against him/her like arrest, conviction. Established in 1911 as Hangzhou Vocational Business School (The Earliest Chinese Business School), Zhejiang Gongshang University (ZJSU) is a public higher educational institution that focuses on the fields of business and technology. Zhejiang Gongshang University is situated in Hangzhou, an amazing city which has a long history in China and was inscribed on World Heritage List by UNESCO in 2011. The history of this university goes back to 1911 when it was named “Hangzhou Business School”, which was one of the first business schools in China. It was renamed “Hangzhou Institute of Commerce” in 1980 and then “Zhejiang Gongshang University” in 2004.
