Wuhan Conservatory of Music(武汉音乐学院) is the only independent higher music institution in central China. It is also one of the 9 independent music conservatories in China. The university is located in the ancient city of Wuchang with a long history and rich culture. The university covers a total area of 180 acres, the assets of teaching equipment and equipment are more than 37 million yuan. It has two campuses, Jiefang Road Campus and Binjiang Campus. The Jiefang Road campus is located at No. 255 Jiefang Road, Wuchang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province, and the adjacent Binjiang campus is located at No. 1 Zhangzhidong Road, Wuchang District.
The predecessor of the Wuhan Conservatory of Music was the Central South Conservatory of Music established in 1953 by the music section of the Central South Academy of Literature and Art, South China People’s College of Literature and Art, and Guangxi Provincial Art College. In 1958, Central South Conservatory of Music merged with Wuhan Normal University of Arts & The Hubei Academy of Arts was established. From 1972 to 1978, the university was named “Hubei College of Art”. In 1985, the university was rebuilt and named Wuhan Conservatory of Music.
Wuhan Conservatory of Music has 2 provincial-level key disciplines, 2 second-level academic master degree authorization points, and 1 Professional master degree authorization point. Currently, it has 9 general undergraduate teaching units, including Composition, Musicology, Folk Music, Piano, Orchestra, Vocal Music, Dance, Music Education, and Performing Arts. There are teaching units such as the Graduate School, the Ideological and Political Course, the Public Basic Course, and the College of Continuing Education (including adult education), and there are 6 general undergraduate majors. The university has 687 in-service faculty members. There are 475 full-time teachers (including hired teachers) in secondary schools. Among the faculty members, there are 56 current professors and 109 associate professors.
Wuhan Conservatory of Music has 3 national characteristic majors, 3 provincial brand majors, 1 national experimental teaching demonstration center, 2 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, and national “professional comprehensive” there is 1 item of “Reform Pilot”, 2 items of “Professional Comprehensive Reform Pilot” of ordinary undergraduate universities in Hubei Province, and 5 provincial-level quality courses. In June 2013, Xu Te, the school’s orchestral teacher, guided his student Yang Mingyuan to win the finals of the International Oboe Association 2013 Young Masters Competition.
The library of Wuhan Conservatory of Music has a collection of 250,000 Chinese and foreign books and audiovisual materials, including more than 110,000 professional theoretical books and foreign books, and more than 80,000 other books. Audio nearly 50,000 pieces of materials (boxes). More than 7,000 periodicals (bundled editions) including 6,000 volumes in Chinese and 1,000 volumes in foreign languages, ordering all domestic music periodicals and literary theory research-related periodicals, totaling more than 40 types (categories). There are more than 120 kinds (classes) of social sciences and 17 kinds of foreign language periodicals.
Wuhan Conservatory of Music has undertaken and completed a number of national Levels and provincial and ministerial level projects, such as compiling some entries of the “Encyclopedia of China ·Music and Dance Volume” and the “Chinese Folk Songs Collection Hubei Volume”. Completing the fixed score recording of some works of “The Complete Works of Nie Er” and “The Complete Works of Xian Xinghai” Compiling 32 cassettes of “Music Appreciation Library of National Primary and Secondary School Students” and 2 volumes of “Music Library Appreciation Guide” in the combination of computer, composition, and performance, the automatic generation, conversion and composition of multimedia audio, video and score. The development of computer-aided teaching software for technical theory courses, the academic database of compositional technical theory, and the research direction of national music culture and religious music have published 12 monographs, and more than 40 papers have been published in academic journals in China and abroad.

First of all, you must have a passport. As we know passport is a very essential document and without this, we can not leave our country. The general size of the passport size photo is (50mm x 40mm). For applying in china universities, your passport size photo has to be clear and the background must be plain, white or off-white in colour. The height of the head is between 28mm – 33mm and head width 21mm–24mm. Advice to submit a colour photo which is taken 6 months before. Use a clear picture of your face. Submit your immediate academic transcripts & certificate for applying. For example, if you are applying for bachelor submit your school transcripts and certificates. For Master’s Degree provide your undergraduate transcripts and certificates. When you are applying for Ph.D, you have to provide your both (undergraduate and graduate) transcripts and certificates. Transcript And Certificate are important, it help universities to decide if you have the necessary background and skills for the major. All Transcripts and Certificates must have to be notarized. You can notarize your document from an advocate who is authorized by the government.
Note: All the applicant’s transcripts and certificates must be notarized and language should be in Chinese or English version.
You must prepare a CV or resume for applying in abroad country. CV acts as your business profile, though universities are not interested in detailed descriptions of your jobs or experience, but you have to add this. You should focus on your published academic papers, describe academic group works or extracurricular activities, relevant think-thanks, etc. Add your academic qualifications with results, personal details, personal achievement these are must for a perfect CV. Aspiring overseas students are required to take a medical examination to ensure that you are in a good physical condition. The medical examination must include all the items which are listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. The medical examination result will be declared as invalid without the signature of the attending doctor and hospital stamp or seal. You must bring the original medical documents when you come to arrive in China. The Medical certificate will be carried out on behalf of The Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Public Security. Here get a sample of physical examination.
The police clearance certificate is known as “No Criminal Record Certificate” and also known as a good citizen certificate. Police clearance is very important for going to abroad because a foreign country does not allow any criminal records. Police Clearance Certificate is an official document approved by the police or government agencies to prove that you have no criminal offense like arrest, conviction. Additionally, a police clearance certificate is valid for the next 6 months, After 6 months of issue, it will be declared as invalid. See the sample of the Police Clearance Certificate.
A bank statement is mandatory when we go foreign for different purposes like a visitor, a business or immigrants. These rules are not changeable for study. So, students also have to show a bank statement. China has no strict rules that only your parents have to be your sponsor. Anyone can be your sponsor. See the sample of a bank statement.
For studying in China you must have to submit your English proficient certificate to prove your English skills. It is not mandatory that you must have IELTS, you can take English Proficiency Certificate from your school or university. Additionally, If you have done IELTS or TOFEL you can submit it. If you want to study in Chinese taught and want to get CSC scholarship then you must have to submit HSK certificate of proficiency in Chinese. HSK is not mandatory for English taught, but if you have it will be beneficial for you. Students of masters & Ph.D. have to submit two recommendation letters. A recommendation letter is usually written by a supervisor, colleague, and teacher. Two recommendation letters have to be written by two-person. Make sure that the writer knows you very well and you have completed any course with them or work with them. In the letter mention about your academic and personal traits and emphasize the strengths that are relevant to the major or university where you are applying. If you want to apply for MS/Ph.D you must need a study plan or research proposal in Chinese or English (no less than 800 words). A study plan describes in detail what you are going to do with the scholarship. Explain your main educational goal, and how you want to achieve this. And keep in mind that it is very important, that helps in an excellent organization as well as creating a sense of liability in your learning process. This document is needed only for Ms or Ph.D applicants, so please make sure that your study plan or research proposal states that information as specific as possible. See the sample of Study Plan.
Study gap certificate is an affidavit that is used to show a gap in education or further study. Gap certificate provides your statement on the non-judicial stamp paper stating the reason for taking the gap and claim that you did not take admission to any other college, university or courses during the gap year. You can get this stamp paper from any notary, sub-registry office or court and contact with an advocate they will prepare your gap certificate.

The national musical performance experimental teaching demonstration center of Wuhan Conservatory of Music is one of the two demonstration centers in the country. The three majors of “Music Performance”, “Musicology”, and “Recording Art” are national specialties. The university in Hubei is the first batch of provincial key discipline construction units in provincial universities & is one of the “Humanities and Social Sciences Bases” in Hubei Province. Wuhan Conservatory of Music has established orchestras such as the Oriental Symphony Orchestra, the Chinese Chime Orchestra, the National Chamber Orchestra, and the Chorus. A university dormitory is a magical place where students from all over the world gather under one roof and will spend their precious university time together. It is often said that a university that has not lived in a dormitory is incomplete. Of course, The environmental conditions of different university dormitories are different. Wuhan Conservatory of Music has student dormitories to accommodate international & local students. The dormitory is very close to the cafeteria and supermarket, shopping is convenient and time-saving. Each dormitory has its own bathroom. There is no balcony in the dormitory of the quadruple room. There is a computer desk underneath and a bed on the top. There is air-conditioning. The six-bedded room has a balcony, but it will be a little crowded with bunk beds.
