Hebei Medical University
Hebei Medical University is situated in Shijiazhuang city, the capital of Hebei province. It is one of the provincial key universities with a history of over 100 years and an excellent educational tradition, and with its predecessor Beiyang Medical School established by the government of Qing Dynasty in 1894. This university is one of the oldest public universities in modern China. In this university, there held the first basketball match of China, achieved the first medical journal “Renshen Medicine”, edited the first Human systemic anatomy in China, discovered and named the acute motor axonal neuropathy in the world firstly.
Now the university covers main subjects such as Clinical Medicine, Preventive Medicine, Stomatology, Pharmacy, Biology, Clinical Discipline of Chinese and Western Integrative Medicine, etc. There are 14 majors of undergraduate, 68 authorized postgraduate subjects and 42 approved doctoral subjects. Postdoctoral research stations have been built for 4 main subjects including Biology, Basic Medicine, Clinical Medicine and Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine. The Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine is the national key discipline.
Among the faculty members, there are 2 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 31 province outstanding experts, 39 experts who enjoy the state council special allowance, 99 middle-aged and young experts with outstanding contribution to the national and provincial science and technology management.4 faculties were rated as national excellent teachers. Hebei Medical University achieved 4 first-class ternary general hospitals, 1 first-class ternary specialized hospital, 8100 sickbeds and 17 affiliated hospitals. Moreover, there are 8 libraries, 8 provincial research institutes and 9 kinds of academic publications edited and published by the university.
Presently, there are more than 400 overseas students doing their bachelor, master and doctor’s degrees in this university. Hebei Medical University is not only the centre of medical education and clinical service in Hebei Province, but also the center of medical research. Hebei Medical University has developed 1 national key discipline, 1 candidate national key discipline, 13 provincial key disciplines, 15 national key clinical specialties, 4 provincial characteristically strong disciplines, 2 key laboratories of the MOE jointly supported by the province, 15 provincial key laboratories and 8 provincial research institutes. The university undertakes around 400 research projects each year, with annual research grants more than 50 million Yuan. In addition, the editorial offices of 9 national or provincial academic journals are placed in this university.
In Hebei Medical University, there achieved 6 directly associated hospitals, 5 of them are level-3 first-class hospitals, and there are over 8810 sickbeds. In addition, there are other 17 non-directly connected hospitals, 60 teaching hospitals and internship bases. The 6 directly affiliated hospitals are The First Affiliated Hospital of Hebei Medical University, 2nd Affiliated Hospital of Hebei Medical University, etc. Among them, 5 hospitals are level-3 first-class hospitals. Hebei Medical University is recognized by WHO and the graduates of MBBS program are eligible to take the Medical Licensing Examinations held by the medical councils in different countries such as MCI,BMDC, PMDC, USMLE, HPCSA, SCHS etc.
Apply for a course in a Chinese University is very easy. Students just have to follow some steps to apply for their favorite course. In order to help students complete their online application, overseas students are recommended to follow the following simple instructions.
International applicants must provide the following documents to apply:
1. Application Form (fills in Chinese or in English.)
2. Passport & Passport Size Photo (Scan copy of the applicant’s )
- Passport
Dear student, the first thing you need to have a passport. This is more important documents because without a passport you can not go to study in your dream country. To have passport make you secure to live or study abroad. So if you don’t have it, we suggest you make your passport ready from the embassy office in your home country. Moreover if you have your passport already, then make sure your passport expiry date will not be expired. If it already be expired then you need to remake your passport.
- Passport Size Photo
The passport photo size (50mm x 40mm) in general. The photo should be clear and the background must be plain, white or off-white in color. The height of the head should be between 28mm – 33mm.The head width has to be between 21mm–24mm. Submit a color photo, taken in the last 6 months. Use a clear image of your face. Passport photo should not use filters on the face or take your photo from someone else or selfies. Take off your eyeglasses for your photo. Here is the sample of Passport Size Photo.
3. Transcript and Certificate
Applicants for Doctorate Degree have to provide their both (undergraduate and graduate) transcripts and certificates. To note this point that is, transcripts and certificates should be notarized. here is the sample of Notarized Copy.
Note: Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with translation in Chinese or English.
4. CV/Resume
Applicants must have to prepare their CV if they want to study in abroad in their desired country. The Resume or CV should include their academic qualifications with results, personal details (name, date of birth, marital status, national Id or school Id, physical address, contact no, nationality, language, etc), reference from your institution’s faculty (his/her name, address and designation), personal achievement, etc. To know how to make a standard CV please click here the sample of The Resume.
5. Recommendation Letter
Applicants for all graduate studies need two letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors (in Chinese or English). Letters must include professors’ phone number and email address.
6. Foreign Physical Examination
Applicants are expected to keep the original copies filled in English. The medical examination must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. 7. Police Verification (No Criminal Record)
This is also need to have ready for the study purpose. It is important because foreign country does not allow criminal record. A Police Clearance Certificate is an official document approved by the police or government agencies in order to prove that the applicant has no criminal offense against him/her like arrest, conviction. Its history can be traced back in the year of 1894, Qing Dynasty.
The University lies in the city of Shijiazhuang in Hebei Province, which is 283 kilometers away from Beijing, taking about 3 hours by driving. As an important traffic hub and scenic resort, Shijiazhuang is a promising modern city. Hebei Medical University is an extensive medical university composed of western medicine, traditional medicine, pharmacy and other subjects offered in 14 colleges and 15 specialties. The total value of its instruments and facilities is 147 million RMB, and the library contains more than 540,000 volumes of books. Covering a total area of 185 acres, now it has around 12700 students on campus, including 3000 graduate students and international students from Korea and Japan etc.
Hebei Medical University has a high quality teaching staff made up of 863 professors and 1350 associate professors. The Clinical Medicine in HMU ranks the 16th amongst the China universities. In the last few years, The University has become an important window of cultural and economic exchanges with the world.
