Lingnan Teachers College (formerly Zhanjiang Normal College) is a general undergraduate college in Guangdong Province with a history of 100 years of teacher education. It is located in the beautiful port city of Zhanjiang, the southernmost tip of mainland China. In 1904, the school set up a teacher education school. In 1978, it was renamed Leizhou Teachers College. In 1991, it was renamed as Zhanjiang Normal College. In 2014, it was renamed Lingnan Teachers College.
Lingnan Normal University(LNU), with a history going back over 100 years, is a provincial university. The campus covers an area of 80 hectares (800,000 square meters), including 570,000 square meters of schoolhouses. It has 15 secondary institutes, and 59 undergraduate programs such as literature, law, economics, history, science, engineering, agriculture, management and art. Around 23,000 are undergraduate students on this campus (including 56.3 percent of education majors) and 1,500 are teaching and administrative staff, as well as 131 professors, 275 associate professors and 230 doctors.
The university has made the following achievements in recent years:
Firstly, in April, it was renamed Lingnan Normal University with the approval of the MOE. This new name (Lingnan Normal University) has encouraged all personnel to make great efforts for its development. Secondly, the quality of education and teaching has been improved. The university has built with 28 undergraduate programs, covering pre-school, basic, special and vocational education. It has launched a special education program with a Taiwan organization, and a diving education program with the Zhanjiang diving base of the General Administration of Sport.
The university has 2 national and 4 provincial faculty training bases. Besides, it won 2 first prizes of the 7th teaching achievement awards. Recent years, a total of 297 students passed the postgraduate entrance exams. Many students have won different competitions.During the past 5 years, the university has trained over 42,000 students in primary and secondary schools and vocational colleges. It’s ranked first among the new training bases in its first national training program for primary and middle school teachers in terms of trainees’ evaluation, and was praised by the Ministry of Education’s teaching work department.
Third, the university has progressed in discipline development. Now, It has 3 provincial key special disciplines, 1 provincial collaborative innovative cultivation platform, and 2 provincial key study based for humanities and social sciences. It has achieved 2 first prizes in Guangdong’s philosophy and social sciences, and a 3rd prize in science and technology. Fourth, management services have seen positive results. The university has developed administrative efficiency and management transparency with the help of an online office automation and electronic efficiency supervision system.
The school has built a group of human landscapes which integrate traditional culture and a modern university spirit with a focus on campus culture. Now-a-days, LNU enjoys a higher reputation. In 2013, a special reports about the university in 4 consecutive issues published on magazine. Expenses in Lingnan Normal University

Apply for a course in a Chinese University is very easy. Students just have to follow some steps to apply for their favorite course. In order to help students complete their online application, International students are recommended to follow the following simple instructions. International applicants must provide the following documents to apply:
1. Application Form fills in Chinese or in English.
2. Passport & Passport Size Photo (Scan copy of the applicant’s )
3. Transcripts & Certificates (Must be Notarized Copy )
For Bachelor Degree applicants, they need to only provide high school transcripts and certificates. And for Master Degree applicants, they need to show their undergraduate transcripts and certificates. Applicants for Doctorate Degree have to provide their both (undergraduate and graduate) transcripts and certificates. To note this point that is, all the applicants degree (Bachelor,Masters and Doctorate) transcripts and certificates should be notarized.
Note: Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with translations in Chinese or English.
4. English Proficiency Certificate
In China, some universities does not asked IELTS but if you study in Chinese Taught for CSC scholarship, English Proficiency Certificate need to have ready. If you have IELTS already then you are lucky to study in China without delay.
5. CV/Resume
Applicants must have to make their CV if you want to study abroad in your desired country. In your Resume or CV, there have to be your academic qualifications with results, personal details (name, date of birth, marital status, national Id or school Id, physical address, contact no, nationality, language, etc), reference from your institution’s faculty (his/her name, address and designation), personal achievement, etc. To know how to make a standard CV please click here the sample of The Resume.
6. Study Plan or Research Proposal
Applicants for graduate studies need a study plan or research proposal in Chinese or in English (no less than 800 words). This document required only for Ms or PhD applicants.
7. Recommendation Letter
Applicants for all graduate studies need two letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors (in Chinese or English). Letters must be include professors’ phone number and email address. Here is the sample of Recommendation Letter
8. Published Academic Papers or Other Academic Achievements (if applicable).
9. Foreign Physical Examination
Applicants are expected to keep the original copies filled in English. The medical examination must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. 10. Bank Statement
Bank statements must show to any foreign country for the purpose of a visitor or a business or an immigrants. For the study purpose in foreign countries also need to show bank statement. So dear applicants, you will need to have ready your all documents. Sponsorship can be your parents or anyone whom are your blood related.
11. Police Verification (No Criminal Record)
This is also need to have ready for the study purpose. It is important because foreign country does not allow criminal record. A Police Clearance Certificate is an official document approved by the police or government agencies in order to prove that the applicant has no criminal offense against him/her like arrest, conviction.
