Huazhong Agricultural University
Located in Wuhan, the biggest city and transportation hub of Central China, Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) is a national key university of “Project 211” directly under the Ministry of Education. With a history tracing back to Hubei Farming School founded in 1898 by Zhang Zhidong, governor of Hubei and Hunan Province, HZAU enjoys a history of 117 years. The university was entitled National Civilized Unit in 2008 and 2011, and was ranked 11th in the nation among the 72 MOE universities in the latest Performance Appraisal in Higher Education by China’s MOE National Institute for Education Research, and is one of the top universities in Wuhan.
1. Long History
Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) has a history of over 100 years. Its predecessor, Huazhong Agricultural College (HZAC), termed Hubei Agricultural College in 1940, was derived from Hubei Farming School (HFS) established in 1898 by Zhang Zhidong, governor-general of the Huguang region. In 1952 when China’s high institutions were restructured HZAC was founded, merging Agricultural College of Wuhan University Hubei Agricultural College, the Agricultural College of Henan University, the Agricultural College of Nanchang University, the Agricultural College of Guangxi University, the Agricultural College of Sun Yat-sen University and some departments of Hunan Agricultural College. HZAC had its name changed to HZAU in 1985.
2. Overview of Campus
Covering an area of 495 hectares, the campus of Huazhong Agricultural University contains well-spaced teaching blocks and lab buildings and is surrounded on three sides by clear lakes and backed by green hills, making it an ideal place for teaching and research.
HZAU consists of 18 colleges and departments. Featuring life science, HZAU also gives much emphasis on the rational disciplinary construction of agriculture, sciences, engineering, arts, law, economics, and management.
3. Excellent Faculty
There are more than 2500 faculty members, of whom 312 are professors, 5 academicians of the Chinese Academies of Sciences and Engineering, 2 academicians of the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World, and 1 foreign associate of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences.
4. Discipline Construction and Laboratories
Huazhong Agricultural University boasts 6 national key (specialized) laboratories, 4 national R&D centers, 19 provincial and ministerial key (open) laboratories, 24 provincial and ministerial R&D centers, and 2 provincial humanities and social sciences research base. Significant results have been achieved in the fields of hybrid rapeseeds, green super rice, lean swine, animal vaccines, high-quality citrus, potato microtuber, and transgenic cotton. HZAU is the only higher education institution that has obtained the title of Advanced Unit in the implementation of the National Program “863”.
5. Achievements
Huazhong Agricultural University has constructed 32 national top-quality courses, and the annual employment rate of college graduates has been kept at around 94% for the past few years, taking the leading position among the national colleges and universities while 30% of the graduates have entered into postgraduate schools for further study right after graduation with 60% of them specializing in the fields of professional superiority and characteristics. HZAU has produced alumni distinguished in their respective fields; among them are academicians of the two Academies, senior government officials, and well-known entrepreneurs.

Prepare Your Departure:

Admission Procedure
Apply for a course in a Chinese University is very easy. Students just have to follow some steps to apply for their favorite course. In order to help students complete their online application, International students are recommended to follow the following simple instructions. International applicants must provide the following documents to apply:
1.Application Form fills in Chinese or in English.
2.Passport & Passport Size Photo (Scan copy of the applicant’s )
3.Transcripts & Certificates (Must be Notarized Copy )
For Bachelor Degree applicants, they need to only provide high school transcripts and certificates. And for Master Degree applicants, they need to show their undergraduate transcripts and certificates. Applicants for Doctorate Degree have to provide their both (undergraduate and graduate) transcripts and certificates.
Note: All the applicants degree (Bachelor, Masters and Doctorate) transcripts and certificates should be notarized and language should be in Chinese or English version.
4.English Proficiency Certificate
In China, some universities does not asked IELTS but if you study in Chinese Taught for CSC scholarship, English Proficiency Certificate need to have ready. If you have IELTS already then you are lucky to study in China without delay.
5.CV/Resume
Applicants must have to make their CV if you want to study abroad in your desired country. In your Resume or CV, there have to be your academic qualifications with results, personal details (name, date of birth, marital status, national Id or school Id, physical address, contact no, nationality, language, etc), reference from your institution’s faculty (his/her name, address and designation), personal achievement, etc. To know how to make a standard CV please click here the sample of The Resume.
6.Study Plan or Research Proposal
Applicants for graduate studies need a study plan or research proposal in Chinese or in English (no less than 800 words). This document required only for Ms or PhD applicants.
7.Recommendation Letter
Applicants for all graduate studies need two letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors (in Chinese or English). Letters must be included professors’ phone number and email address. Here is the sample of Recommendation Letter
8.Published Academic Papers or Other Academic Achievements (if applicable).
9.Foreign Physical Examination
Applicants are expected to keep the original copies filled in English. The medical examination must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Medical examination results will be valid for 6 months. All applicants are kindly requested to take this factor into consideration as they plan to take the medical examination. 10.Bank Statement
Bank statements must show to any foreign country for the purpose of a visitor or a business or an immigrants. For the study purpose in foreign countries also need to show bank statement. So dear applicants, you will need to have ready your all documents. Sponsorship can be your parents or anyone whom are your blood related.
11.Police Verification (No Criminal Record)
This is also need to have ready for the study purpose. It is important because foreign country does not allow criminal record. A Police Clearance Certificate is an official document approved by the police or government agencies in order to prove that the applicant has no criminal offense against him/her like arrest, conviction.
